This is the Visitor Centre run by the Ranger Service and located in Strathclyde Park close to the Bothwellhaugh Pavilion. The building was once the ploughman's cottage at Raith Farm which was situated at the west end of Bothwellhaugh. The centre contains a room devoted to memorabilia of the village and these can be seen from 9.30am - 12 Noon and from 1.30pm - 4pm each day in the summer, but only at the weekends between September and Easter. The Ranger Service has, over the years, compiled four albums of photographs of the village and its inhabitants which constitutes an excellent resource of images and information about life in the village. These photos can be seen by arrangement with the Ranger Service. Telephone 01698 266155 Ext 131. |
